Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Cue, a voice-to-text application ("the App"), operated by Cue ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Privacy and data protection

Your privacy is fundamental to how we build Cue. We make three core guarantees:

• Your data is not used for training AI models. Neither by us nor by any third party through our service.
• Your data is not retained on our servers. Audio recordings and transcriptions are processed locally on your device by default. When you choose cloud transcription, audio is streamed to the provider for real-time processing only and is not stored.
• We collect minimal information. License validation requires a lightweight authentication check, but no personal data is associated with or retained from these requests.

License and usage

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on your personal devices, subject to these Terms. This license is for your personal or professional use and does not transfer any ownership rights.

User accounts and security

If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for any activity under your account. Please notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

Subscriptions and payments

Cue may offer free and paid tiers. For paid subscriptions:

• Refunds — We offer a 30-day refund window from the date of purchase, no questions asked.
• Cancellation — You can cancel your subscription at any time. You will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period.
• Price changes — If we change pricing, existing subscribers will be given reasonable advance notice before any change applies to their account.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the App.
• Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any license validation or payment mechanisms.
• Share your account credentials or allow others to access your account.
• Use automated tools to access or interact with the App in unintended ways.

Intellectual property

All rights, title, and interest in the App — including its design, code, branding, and documentation — belong to Cue or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you rights to our trademarks, logos, or brand assets without prior written consent.

Any content you create using the App (your transcriptions, text, etc.) belongs entirely to you. We claim no ownership or rights over your content.

Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components. Speech recognition accuracy may vary depending on your hardware, environment, and language.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the App is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, revenue, or profits.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time. Upon termination, your license to use the App ceases, but provisions regarding intellectual property, limitation of liability, and disclaimers survive.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes — particularly to our privacy guarantees or payment terms — we will notify you in advance. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Cue operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
